The municipality of Estepona is located in the south-western part of the province of Malaga. It has 23km of coastline. Estepona is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Costa del Sol due to its fantastic natural beaches and warm Mediterranean climate. It has a fishing and agricultural industry but in recent years residential tourism has been the mainstay of its economy. Estepona, "Jardín de la Costa del Sol" owes its name to its fantastic parks and natural areas. The promenade with its current remodelling will mean a complete transformation in aesthetics. The old town of Estepona is considered to be one of the most beautiful on the Costa del Sol, with its cosy pedestrian streets and its main monuments such as the Castle of San Luis, the Clock Tower, the Church of Los Remedios and the Archaeological Museum.
